THE GRL PASS
GRL – Garantie des Risques LOCATIFS (guarantee for the risks incurred in a rental accomodation)
This new plan guarantees a better recovery of unpaid rents to individual landlords, thus facilitating access to rental property to anyone.
Required conditions:
The GRL is allotted to renters:
- with a rent amount between 33% to 50% of his (her) monthly income.
- or who do not have a individual guarantor as required by the landlord.
Specificities:
The renter when moving in:
fills up a PASS-GRL passport online. Once the document is delivered, it certifies that the renter is eligible to the GRL plan.
presents the PASS-GRL to the individual landlord who will be able to contact an insurance company offering the GRL if he has not already done so.
NOTE: The landlord can take out a GRL for a renter in place at any time, as long as no payment incident over two consecutive months occurred in the last 6 months.
